Hapé

About Hapé / Rapé

Hapé is a powerful, sacred tobacco snuff made by the indigenous tribes of the Amazon and used as a part of important medicinal rituals. There are many types and blends of Hapé, all with different herbs in it. The main component, however, is always tobacco of a variety called Nicotiana Rustica, which contains high levels of nicotine. Due to the stimulating effects of nicotine, Hapé has an uplifting effect. To indigenous cultures, tobacco is a sacred plant known to cleanse both individuals and ceremonial spaces and is said to be a Grandfather medicine, full of ancient wisdom and the ability to carry our powers to Creator / Great Spirit / God / Goddess. Hapé is used for deep connection to the spirits, animals, and Mother Nature. It is very cleansing and powerfully healing for the body, mind, and soul. Indigenous people have used Hapé as a form of prayer that “calls upon the forces of Nature, the blessings of the animals of the forest, and power of medicinal plants to heal us and give us strength.” This sacred medicine takes days to make and is a very labor-intensive process made in a ceremonial way, out of various Amazonian healing medicinal plants, leaves, trees, and seeds for native lands.

How to Receive
And Use Hapé

Grace will strongly exhale a dime sized portion of this medicine into a blow pope called a “Tepé” that is connected to each nostril, one at a time, while holding your breath. Then, you will sit for at least 5-10 minutes in meditation.

When self-administering, a “Kuripe” is used to blow a dime sized portion of the medicine into first your left, and then your right nostril, while holding your breath.
